Google has announced a redesigned Play Store for large-screen Android devices, including tablets, Chromebooks and foldables. The company said changes will include ranking improvements to promote high-quality apps on large screens, refreshed app listing pages with multi-column layouts, and a left-side navigation rail on larger screens to get menu items closer to users' thumbs. In addition, split-screen search results and app details pages will simplify the app discovery process. Warnings will also appear on app pages to manage user expectations of how apps will look and function on their devices. Changes due to be implemented in late August.
